Olympic Accident Poem by drew strawser

Olympic Accident

Getting ready for my first jump was all I could do,
The crowd cheering loudly was all I could hear.
Waiting for the official to tell me to go,
Then 3,2,1 and then it was off to the races.

It was all going fine until I went to land my jump,
Then I fell on my leg and tore it half way off.
The blood and pain were so excruciating,
Never again will I walk because of my fall.
