Olive Oil Made My Day! Poem by Denis Martindale

Another week has come and gone... gone but not forgotten...
Another week, full armour on... and this week was a hotten...
One day, the heat had just begun... yet still I chose to act...
I walked for miles beneath the sun... my armour still intact...
My sword and shield stayed hand in hand... my helmet firmly set...
Upon the day that God had planned... the day I can't forget...
I sang some songs of praise I'd learnt... things didn't seem so bad...
It was as if God's grace I'd earnt... and that thought made me glad...

Yet God's amazing grace came free... when I was born again...
And that was thanks to Calvary... and Jesus, way back then...
So I declined to boast with pride... yet chose a thankful heart...
And I got home and went inside... with brand new prayers to start...
For I had bought some olive oil... for healing and for such...
Despite the fact I had to toil... and had to walk so much...
And when anointed, feeling blessed... amazing grace came through...
I prayed for God to do the rest... as only He could do...
