Old Quilter In A Rush Poem by Donal Mahoney

Old Quilter In A Rush

His wife is in a rush to join
the quilting bee at church but

he insists she’s lucky that
despite his age he wants

to know which panty
she put on today.

He won’t take her word for it
and must verify her choice.

It will only take a minute
and he offers to lift her skirt.

He says the other quilters
will confirm the time

to be concerned
is when he doesn’t ask.
