Old Fig Tree Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Old Fig Tree

Do you remember beneath
The bastions
Beneath the old fig tree?

I and you
Together huddled
As the dusk went out
And
Night on his car
Lighted star by star.

Do your remember
Hours that passed
And months and years!
Those were ten and five years
Those fifteen elapsed
Years!
