Now I`m feeling old and tired
No longer do I feel inspired
To write or paint or dance or sing
Or do any blessed thing
But take to my favourite chair,
Turn on the telly and stare and stare.
Small wonder that I`ve got the blues
I`ve just been listening to the news
Death and carnage everywhere,
Millions living in despair.
Murders, muggings by the score,
Religious conflict more and more,
All of this affects my head,
So I`ll take a sleeping pill, then bed.
