Comme un oiseau sur le fil,
comme un ivrogne dans un choeur de minuit
j'ai essaye a ma facon d' etre libre.
Comme un ver sur un hamecon,
comme un chevalier d'un livre demode
j'ai epargne tous mes rubans pour toi.
Si moi, j'ai ete cruel,
J'espere que tu ne peux que l'oublier.
Si moi, j'ai ete infidele
