Of Late Old Andy Poem by Francis Duggan

Of Late Old Andy

Rating: 4.5

Of late old Andy has not been feeling well
But of his life he has great stories to tell
Of his better years travelling from place to place
Where in many a town his was a well known face

An itinerant worker his sort nowadays rare
As a younger man he was one free of care
But lady luck was not always on his side
The woman he loved June in childbirth she died

Their child was still born his grief stayed with him for years
Andy knows that life has it's laughter and tears
But Andy did survive his tragic mental fall
And time is the greatest healer of them all

In his late seventies he lives on his own
And better physical years old Andy has known
He thinks of the up and down times he has had
And he is one who takes the good times with the bad
