Ode To William Wordsworth Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Ode To William Wordsworth

Rating: 5.0

I saw and read The Daffodils this morn
My congratulations too
and nothing is forlorn

because of you and my teacher
I bothered then
to read poems from your thoughtful pen

the daffodils were the first flowers I read and saw
by any other teacher it was a gnaw

but she is my gifted lecturer
in the English literature,
she read your poems in such a rapture
that I became very interested in English literature

the way she did,
was such a brilliant gritt,
her tone, her tune,
like the sparkling vernal in June

she was a greatest talent
in all her declamating accent

she was our lecturer of English literature,
she made that subject perfect and original
and your poems dear William,
was her favourite special
