Ode To Mugsy Poem by Lindsey Wolf

Ode To Mugsy

There is an uproar in my town
Parents all hide away their young.
Hiding from a creature emerging as the sun goes down.
80 pounds of fur, clipped Yoda ears making chewbacca sounds.

I recognized this beast as my own.
My pride 7 year old pure-bred boxer.
A face that would even make a mother moan,
then I must explain an inch of meanness he has never known.

We call him Mugsy, Ape and Mo-Mo to name a few.
Our beloved dog and ugly teddy bear,
with a face like that what else can he do?
He loves all, people are afraid and nearly have us sued.

Do not blame the dog, he knows not how he appears.
He has the soul of a lovable teddy bear
but doesn't get that he makes others fear
yet he even scares himself in the mirror.

We warn caution and for others to beware,
not because of his lovely temperament and heart full of love
but only because he slobbers and spreads it everywhere.
It really is so unfair, people please do not fear
my big and ugly teddy bear.
