O Britain Poem by David Wood

O Britain

Rating: 5.0

(Finlandia Hymn, Flash Mob)

O hear my song, my prayer of supplication
We the oppressed, abandoned and the poor.
We have no voice, and suffer subjugation
By those who lead and rule our every way.
Only the rich and multi-national companies
Benefit here, their influence hold sway.

Our students pay for all their education
It should be free, it burdens them with debt
Our elderly, impoverished on their pension
While those who lead are out for all they get
Where is a voice, O where is there a leader
To rescue us and free us from despair.

Beautiful prayer to end the seemingly endless burden of greed of a few on society. I think that there isgood hope that one day this wonderful will be answered

theme of reformation is expressed very well in the poem, people are suffering and the leaders are sleeping this is our tragedy, well-penned, if you find time please read some of my poems and leave your comments.
