Number One Poem by Manager Poet

Number One

You have a nickname I didn't pull from a hat.
It came from a movie about a joker and a bat.
All your life I've watched you grow.
You've become a fine man and
I think you should know.
Seek understanding, show kindness,
and give love.
These ideals are from above.
When you to go into the world,
be cautious not to let your head get whirled.
Even though as cautious as we can be,
sometimes it will be difficult to see.
So when your boat at times is adrift,
never forget you've got a dad on your shift.
I'll be with you until that day.
From then on I pray, you too will guide
your son the same way.
Don't forget, whose you are.
God is never too far.
One more line and I'll end.
Remember your dad loves you
and is your friend.
