Notre Dame Poem by Ripper Jones

Notre Dame

Notre Dame Cathedral
It was in our itinerary
Of our holiday in Europe
We children, who knew about this place
From an old film, black and white
It was the one with the hunch back
But this was the real place
But it seemed unreal, almost surreal
These were real wonky wooden boards
We were walking on
From the real olden days
And we were so high up
People lived dangerous lives then .
And then there was the Bell
And it was Huge
Much bigger than in the film
Was the hunchback deaf?
