Nothingness Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Nothingness

Vacant look in my eyes
Where there was twinkle
Of surprise
Angular sadness
Defines my profile
Gone are the days
Of charming smile
I walk around stooped shouldered
And gaunt
No more spring in my steps
To flaunt

So many stories
Of unspoken pains
You had planned it
From the beginning
It was not preordained

Someone else lived
In your heart
While you proclaimed
I was your part

So many lies
Your fake
innocent smiles
You fooled me
For so long
But now
You'll pay the price

Not bitter
But smarter
Then ever
Before
