Not Too Far Away Poem by Cat Hodgson

Not Too Far Away

Not too far away

Enchanting rays dance with glistering sunshine
Dewdrops shine as diamonds sparkle
Green grass sways, wind gives the rhythm
Lightning flashes from the distant hill

The storm moves in chasing away the sun
The rain sprinkles misty damp
The tears join as I think of you
Miles away in another land

No green meadows only dry sand
No rain to dance with the dew
My heart pounds as the thunder wails
Trampling the grass like a rail train

I'm missing you, feel my pain
Arms would have held me tight
In the storm and through the night
I wrap myself in my own arms

Pretend you are in this room
A soft melody whispers our tune
I dance and sway in your arms
A star falls from the sky

We wish together from different lands
Dream together enchanted muse
I'm not really alone I feel you
Your hand in mine,
Means the rest of you,
Is not too far away…
