Not Quite Going To Plan Poem by Matthew Holloway

Not Quite Going To Plan

Not quite going to plan
a fitting title page to a life
half way through it's biography
the achievements and riches
yet to become realised
the preceding chapters
an uneventful charade
of failed friendships
of lost love and romance
all missing the loyalty sought
perhaps matching the loyalty
that was offer up to begin with
a charade foolishly writ
subplots and character arc's
all led down a blind alley
and with pages still to be read
through and throughout
not quite going to plan
may be followed with
can it be turned around
