Not Great To Live In Poem by Francis Duggan

Not Great To Live In

How come there is so much emphasis placed on success
If winning is our only way to happiness
In this twenty first century where so many yearn for to win
It cannot be a happy World to live in
And many of those who win cannot win with grace
In the Human World humility has lost it's place
I admire the people who do not wish to be well known
One can say of them they have lives of their own
They talk of their big home and their brand new car
How so very self obsessed some people are
Yet their sort so many do seem to admire
This thing known as success can leave a lot to desire
The twenty first century not great to live in
When those looked on as winners without grace do win.
