Noise Poem by Claude H Oliver II

Noise

Words of anger, war and greed
Words of pain, hunger and need
Shouted words – words of strife
Outward signs of turmoil within
Cacophony and din – no peace within.

Yet can we hear through this din
The calm of reason – the quiet within
Whispered words of love and peace
Quiet speech of the universe
Speaking softly from within
Always there – a soft voice
Calming strife and fear
Always there for us to hear.
