Noble Profile Poem by Denis Martindale

Noble Profile

Showing off his noble profile
So everyone could tell,
The wily wild wolf paused to smile
For life was going well...
As if he seemed quite handsome there,
Not one hair out of place,
With winsome grin that showed no care,
Just look upon that face!

Although his coat looks mighty warm
And glistening in the sun,
This is the calm before the storm,
The time no harm is done...
The time when life is innocent
And simply guilty-free,
The time when he is not Hell-bent
On chasing you or me!

As long as he stays over there
And we're all over here,
That wolf looks somewhat debonair
And we've nothing to fear...
Let's watch him rest, as is his due,
But wisdom is a must...
So if he runs, then I'll run, too,
