No, Thank-You Poem by Paul Day

No, Thank-You

I am what I am because of what I’ve done,
And I’ve done what I’ve done because of what I’ve been.

Sure, there are some things I wish I hadn’t done,
Just as there are some things I wish I hadn’t been.

But here I am, proud of the person I’ve become.

Ask me about regret.
I smile and give thanks to it.

Give me a chance to correct my past.
Give me a chance to undo the pain, the sorrow, the mistake.

I will not take it.
No, thank-you.
I will not take it.

I heard a phrase I hope I can remember, 'Don't mistaken my kindness for weakness for then I will have to bull dozer over you'. You have a way of writing for everyone to get a different meaning from it. 10++
