No Superman Poem by Alexander Foald

No Superman

One morning I wake up
One last time I need so much time
One more chance to get myself work out
One good day to settle down and take the rhyme

I can hear the voices in my head
Screaming words like they always said
“Why don’t you take a break and get laid? ”
Why do I have to wait for another day?

My feet feel like they’re running through the hall
Arms wide open and heart beats faster than usual
Maybe this is how it feels when you know how it ends
Sometimes you just have to try and make believe

But I’m no superman
Neither one on the street down there
I’ve got no power given by the sun
But this one little chance to make things better

So here’s the day with all things stay around
And my fear won’t be added to the round
If I can put a brave step forward down
I wish this will put all to an end
