No One Came Poem by David Harris

No One Came

You get prepared for something
hoping for lots and lots of people,
then you wait and wait
but in the end no one comes.
Disappointment lingers in the air
as you look around for anyone,
but everywhere is bare.
You are left sitting alone
only with your thoughts
of all the glory days when everybody came.
Your sadness is recorded
in someone's book somewhere
and you feel devastated
alone again to face the world.
