No More War For Heroes Forty-Four Poem by Tom Navarro

No More War For Heroes Forty-Four

No more war for heroes forty-four
Up there they'll enjoy the peace they strove to protect
Boodle-fighting with winged angels in full armor
Welcoming these brave young men among the Elect.

No more war for heroes forty four
No more fighting with Muslim brothers for a piece of soil
Saint Peter is now giving them the heavenly tour
Worthy of white wings after the sad toil.

No more war for heroes forty four
These real men shed their blood so many shall live
Smiling, laughing, high-fiving with Our Savior
They won eternal life for the young lives they gave.

We will never forget you.
