No Man's Land Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

No Man's Land

Rating: 4.5

No Man's Land

My dearest friend
called me from an entirely different end
The world-famous No Man's Land
Where is that to where he was sent?

Is that a jail or a home
a palace or a dome?
Is that the horrible shocking bling?
If I cannot reach him, I am so very sorry
for him, I will only sing

Bling is often shocking, because we can surmise how it was accumulated. To associate bling with palaces and jail is a natural train of thought. Having friends that vanish into such a 'No Man's Land' must stimulate one's imagination powerfully.
