No Man's Land Poem by Bloodshed 207

No Man's Land

The mortars ravage the land
Machine guns rip away flesh
Flames engulfing their bodies
Noxious gas claims their last breaths
Watching them suffer and die

Bodies litter the trenches
A river of blood flows through
Tank treads line the landscape
Barbed wire frayed and torn
The battlefield singed and reddened

Fallen comrades
And defeated enemies
Lie lifelessly on the ground
Rifles still clenched in hand
With a bullet to the heart
