No Intentions To Hurt Poem by Jason Danner

No Intentions To Hurt

NO INTENTION TO HURT
I brush back her hair,
Left hand on her face,
Into eyes we stare.
My Right hand on her waist,
Her skin so pale
My lips want a taste,
I whisper, 'I care.'
Our fingers inter-lace,
Temptation in the air.
I'm happy in this place,
But she's already been there.
I slow down the pace,
she says a prayer.
As we casually embrace.
'God let this be real,
Just let me feel,
the emotions I've missed.
The babies on my wrist,
a life full of joy.
god, I'm not a toy!
Please don't play with me,
that is my only plea.'
And as she opens her eyes,
He feels her pain.
Sees the lies,
that made her insane.
Why she cries,
The thoughts in her brain.
The way she sighs,
And Cuts on her veins.
All the guys
And their fucking remains.
What do I do?
What do I say?
What do I do?
What do I say?
He ponders the question,
God gives direction.
a quite reflection.
The word selection.
an attempt To overcome
every objection.
If I hurt you, I'd only hurt myself.
If I make you believe, someone believes in myself,
If I hold you up, no need to stand by myself.
If you fall in love, I fall in love myself.
If I make you smile, I smile myself.
If I let you down, I let down myself.
If this doesn't work, I only blame myself.
But we've both been through hell, so let's find heaven in ourselves.
