No Poem by damion willis

No

it’s the first word that comes to mine
now that I put the past behind
it’s up to me to make the good or bad decision
it ends up in math term like division
this is like terrorism

it also saves the day and keeps you safe at night
what we really want to hear is Later, maybe, or just plain ole yes
the word I’m talkin’ about can make you sad
come with tears or hate for the moment
but I’m kinda glad cuz I’m still alive
No longer a fraid and still shy

It feel weird to be grown and ask to go outside
and get the powerful word that keeps you alive
and the word hurts worst than being shot or stab
the home boys will call you a lame if you don’t smoke
but keep in mine the powerfulness word on earth
now between jail and the hospital it could change yo
hole life you ain’t got to be in church to do the right thing
just keep in mine the most powerfulness word on earth
the word that hurts the most
that word is Nope, Naw, or just plain ole NO
