Nightmare Stare

I Was Sleeping One Night
When I Heard A Scream
I Woke With A Fright
But It Wasn't A Dream
A Girl In The Street
Was Frantic And Wild
She Was Dragging Her Feet
Such An Innocent Child

Oh, It Wasn't Like This
She Had All To Give
Yeah, She Started To Dabble
Yeah, She Wanted To Live
At A Party One Night
She Hit Smack In The Arm
Her Faith Lost Control
Yeah, She Wanted It All

Her Want Grew To Need
Yeah, Still Chasing That Dragon
She Just Used Him More
She'd Do Anything In Order To Score
The Ride Got Too Fast
She Had To Get Off
Yeah, It Might Be Her Last
But That's What It Cost

I Looked In Her Eyes
Such Pain And Relief
Her Spirit Escaped
And Blood On My Feet
It Was A Nightmare
Her Life Down The Drain
A Nightmare; She Got Caught In The Rain
A Nightmare
Addicted Down Hill
She Only Wanted To Try
But Try Turned To Kill
It Was A Real Nightmare
Yeah A Real Nightmare Stare...

Poem of the Day

poet James Whitcomb Riley

There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your doll, I know;
And your tea-set blue,
And your play-house, too,
Are things of the long ago;
