Nightlight For Humanity Poem by Tim Forrester

Nightlight For Humanity

Rating: 5.0

Nightlight for Humanity

At dusk, a gentle breeze rustles the leaves on the trees in my front yard.
Birds chirp as they settle in for the night.
Clouds drift slowly across the sky.
And a star twinkles from the galaxy.
The Moon is always there, I've checked.

A tiny, green light pulsates slowly as a lightening bug flies by.
The breeze calms, I smell the freshly cut grass in my yard.
As a dog walks an old lady slowly down the sidewalk.
Droplets of rain fall on my face and arms as I head back inside.
The Moon is always there, I've checked.

Although the Moon doesn't generate it's own light.
But, reflects the light from the sun.
I will sleep peacefully tonight.
Because the Moon is always there, I've checked.
