Night Poem by Richard Theze

Night

Rating: 3.5

Night falls,
Uncertainty
Displaces recognition.
As daylight departs,
Multitudes of insects
Begin their nightly rounds,
Patrolling their beats,
Investigating all signs
Of light breaking curfew
To which they draw,
Arrested by its courage,
Held captive by the revelation
That darkness is temporary,
Penetrable,
And cannot last.
