New Hope Poem by Frank Avon

New Hope

Rating: 4.5

New Hope Church
- it was my grandmother's church;
she was a good Southern Methodist -
long ago moved away
from New Hope Cemetery.

Today
the church building has been abandoned
- a family uses it as their dwelling;
the lawn is weedy and unkempt -
but the cemetery flourishes.
