Neutral Milk Hotel Poem by Adeline Morris

Neutral Milk Hotel

Jeff Mangum
has been known
by some
to sing like hell.

Within my ears,
his voice
sets off bells
of joy.

Mom can't get past
the way he sings
and wails.

One day
he will be
further recognized.

Hardly anyone else
has quite yet
changed my world.

'I will take you and leave you alone watching
spirals of white softly flow over your eyelids and
all you did will wait until the point when you let go'
