Neglected Demands Insist Upon Attention Poem by Terence George Craddock

Neglected Demands Insist Upon Attention

popularity who has time for popularity
wasting time with fleeting adoration images
potter has only time to throw clay upon wheel
seeking perfect porcelain cast from perfected clay
painter has only time to dash paint on canvas
seeking perfect ideals haunting visual art images
poet has only time to chase fleeting shadows
seeking perfect word images to echo mind's eye

frustrating is past present future interruptions
always every time getting close to potting painting
writing well time gets swallowed up in a sudden
black hole no potting painting writing creating time
coming out the end in dregs again racing time again
with bad weather creativity window will sudden close
