Naturam Poem by Kiona Pearson

Naturam

Iusto Persona
ethical, logical, mundane
vulnerability through syncronized differentiation
twisting and changing
loss of value that culminates in
constant future thought
we see it before we realize our goal
transformation and cracking bones
instinctual drive that fights to win out over
all of the thought, the pain, the obsession
breaking away, loss of what was before
freedom, choice, life
a creatural comfort found
flesh bristles to vibrissa
find the now, forget then, forget future
one creates a barrier around oneself
and yet individuality gives way to
pack mentality, it's forgivable
flex, there is ancillary strength
in numbers, in body
liberating, clearing, loosing
your mind and your actions
to the drive, hidden behind
skin, spitting fire as you near the boundry
the cusp of what's to come
anticipation for extremity, excellence
aggression, a greater purpose by design
sharp, correct, exceeding expectation
A change of heart
change of mind
change of body
Now lose yourself in the moment
It's not so hard when instinct becomes reality
beastial, preternatural, unique
Lusus Naturae

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was thinking today on how much easier things would be if I were just an animal instead of being a person. Oh man, no school, no work and living for life. That'd be great. I'm sure a lot of people see themselves this way too, especially during the harder days. Sometimes we all just want to get back to our roots.
