Naked Poem by Nelson Enemuo

Naked

Rating: 5.0

Yeah, starkly opulence it was
Stripped naked, beautifully crude
Truly a virgin; reflecting life
Unscathed from scientific claws
Until men and machines
Devoured her treasured innocence.

Naked it was, the truth
A two-edged sword
Creating rift and healing decades' havoc
She comes feeble but soothes
Troubled souls to their soles
Then men and laws
In black and white
Transposed white to black.

Naked was mirror
A soul's intuition
Conscience custodian
Receptive like Adam for Eve
Until the serpent ate
Bureaucracy strangled Ingenuity
Vision left
Stereotyped education set in.

Naked was adorable
Hidden in ether
Of lovers; drooling at their nudity
Smooching, cuddling, eating
Sucking everything seen and unseen
Until keyboards came
Invader of privacy
She became tawdry
Life thinned out.
