Edhar dina dhali rahal cche,
Udhar eka sharmili dulhania
Bailgaadi mei baithik
Jaay rahal cche,
Astachal surya ke kiran
Padi rahal cche
Aar cchota-cchota rahagir baccha
Baildgadi ke dhakel rahal cche
Shukhala nadi ke balu mei,
Bicha mei eka prawahit cchota jaladhar
Paar kar bailagadi jaatei huyei,
Eka nava-naveli sharmili badhu
Aanshu pocchal jaatei huyei,
Hasal-vihasal jaatei huyei.

Here the day is drawing to a close,
There the the coy bride
Sitting on a bullock-cart
Is going,
The setting sunlight's light
Is falling upon
And the small-dmall midway children
Are pushing the cart
On the dry river sand-bed
Where in the middle there flows the thin stream
Crossing which it keeps going,
Wiping the tears,
Smiling and chuckling.
