Myself Near Death Poem by Dallin Bruun

Myself Near Death

last night I woke up with a weird headache
like there was a poisonous marble
lodged in my brain

and 800 milligrams of Ibuprofen
couldn't help the fear
it was an aneurysm
or cancer

and I caught myself thinking
of my meeting with Yolanda the next day
and how I forgot to call my account manager
