My Wine Poem by Syed R Ahamed

My Wine

Neither the sky nor the moon's phases

beckon my mood now - as

you are here in every sense

without the passing desultoriness

I see you inside my closed eyes

my deep breaths pump the sweet love ras

that fills my mind with your craving

as if to bring near the moment

of knowing I am no different from you

you are the wine I promised myself

to drown in and lose my balance

I have made the plunge and kept the word

I will have no complaints nor regrets

if you choose to subsume me - and

I need to explain to none

if I even come out of your hold

anyway, people make their own stories

that people want to listen

nothing changes between you and me
