My Universe Poem by Nathanael Verrill

My Universe

Oh, wet earth.
Swallow me whole
As the sand does the lonely tears and rain drops.
Oh, night sky.
Watch me as I lose myself in thy grandeur while watching you. Then carry my heart into the emptiness of space to dance with the stars.
Oh, Eternity.
When does it end?
Oh, philosophy.
Ask me the questions.
Oh, religion.
Give me the answers.

Oh, night sky, oh moon, oh stars, oh sun, oh all that heaven hath hewn from heart and stone; from light and love.
Where is my world?
Where are my stars?
Where is my peace?
Is it thy peace?
Is nature your happiness?
Am I a part of your nature?
Please make me so.
