My Unforgotten Love Poem by Jo Vinsand

My Unforgotten Love

Love as I did that first tender caress,
True love that filled me with happiness,
I dare not think of my broken heart,
Of how we loved and had to part,
My sorrow is great, but yet so small,
Because losing you has been worst of all,
I'll remember my dear, and always be true,
To the star that I left in the sky of blue!
You left this earthly realm, you're no longer here with me,
Those fifty-four years of marriage, are now
A loving memory,
Although the bond of love was broken,
in my heart you will remain,
It was heaven here on earth with you,
and someday there will be two stars together,
In God's heaven of blue again!
