In the depth of sorrow and despair
My soul aggrieved in the hardship
My faith and trust in Him stretched
My place of refuge suddenly aquiver
His seeming absence terribly telling
My doubts multiply, my hurts renew
I vent my indignation in frustration
I wonder why these afflictions persist

Amidst the devastation to my heart
I discovered He keeps needed dolor
To accomplish in me my very needs
In my tears, I find Him also in tears
In my afflictions, I see Him afflicted
In His compassion I discover in me
A God who shares in my heartaches
And comforts me in all my troubles
And my love for him daily rekindles
