My Teacher Poem by Shakuntala Sharma

My Teacher

Rating: 5.0

Age has not withered his sprightliness
Nor the weight of his wisdom
Slumped his square shoulders

Sorrows failed to bring any
Furrows to his brow

Ailments could not
Dampen his spirits

When you meet him, his piercing eyes
Will size you up before you speak

But don't be unnerved
His benevolent smile
Will surely cheer you up
