My Story Begins Poem by Denice Woods

My Story Begins

Rating: 5.0

I can smell a set up from a mile away,
The ripe stench of your obvious lies
Cover the walls of my mind.
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see
Why we were left behind
But before you go there
Thinking I will give you assistance
Before you think I will aid you in
Getting funds for your mistress
Please think again.
Captain Obvious.
You never stopped loving someone else
Long enough to see the pain you've caused
What an act you perform
You deserve applause
Before you think I'm a fool
Please remember I know all about you
I do my research.
So while you take these couple days to rehearse
That major role of pretending to actually love me
Look at yourself
Long and hard in the mirror
At the person you've become.
You've underestimated me
Yet again
No time to act dumb
You've had your fun now
Time to tell the truth
No more on the run now
Cat's out of the bag.
Tricks are for kids
And you're definitely
Not a youth
You might as well tell me
Before I have proof
Because once I have it
POOF! ! I'm gone.
The finale of your little performance
And my story begins..
