My Rain Poem by Deepa Chandran

My Rain

Not been mesmerized by the glory of the sky,
and the beauty of the rainbow that arch by your side!
Not been trapped by the green wildness of the leaves,
they come in all shapes and enthral your senses!
With no heed so ever to those charming flowers,
who offer their sweet nectar with seductive sway,
and tempt you to dance on their colourful petals!
Distractions are many, Oh dear!
But do not be led astray!
Come! pour down! Oh Rain! ! With that heart so pure,
on this little grass so flimsy and weak and lonely,
stamped and muddied by disgrace,
and no charm to claim than a wholesome soul!
But nothing ever matches my longing for you!
And the river of love I’ve treasured for you!
Pour down, Oh Rain, into that river of mine! !
