My Prayer For The Wolves Poem by G J Salgado

My Prayer For The Wolves

For my brothers and sisters,
Those that share my spirit.

My Native American ancestry,
I treasure their lives and history.

It is a bond between human and animal,
Born by the love and understanding of the soul.

The heart beat of the wolves is a song,
That sings to me everyday as it keeps me strong.

They breathe in the daylight just before noon,
Then come alive during the night beyond the moon.

Through the full moon thunder of midnight's heart,
I promise that we will never be world's apart.

My dear wolf blood born family and friends,
I vow to keep you safe, to protect and defend.

Hear my prayer for all and everything it needs to be,
Let the soul of the wolves forever be wild and free.
