My Pallbearers Poem by Lonnie Hicks

My Pallbearers

Rating: 2.7

The thing is
I have to be clear
on who my PallBearers
will be-
all four of them.

Silly I know
to plan my death
but I need to know
who or what
will be my Corner Left.

There I would have
the strong hands
that mark my Heart.

My Heart
will be Pall-Bearer One.

I will need it
I think
in the What Ever's Next
beyond this world.

Number two will be the Soul's Spot
for it carries all my Essences
in tiny smoky vials
attached to key-chains
arrayed across its chest;

my medals won
in life's Contests
where Character is forged
and Mettles Tested.

Right Rear
is my Embodiment;
embodying what this earth
has given me;
It walks tall
and carries the heavy lift
the casket is.

It is the temple too
where
my Soul lives.

Last
is my Minds Ferment
every idea I've ever had
has not been lost
but floats inside an ether
inside an urn
of Pure Energy
all to be released
again
to the Firmament;

to the Stars

and Galaxies

from whence they came.

A very nice write. I especially like the words: 'every idea I've ever had has not been lost but floats inside an ether inside an urn of Pure Energy all to be released again to the Firmament; ' It is illustrates that all our ideas have important potential. Well penned..A...10. Richard
