My Obsession With Fate, (Love Letters From A Lady Of Renown) Poem by Captain Cur

My Obsession With Fate, (Love Letters From A Lady Of Renown)

Mon Amant De La Mer,

Litanies of chance persuade my actions;
upon your body I know every scar,
every blemish, every base distraction.
Does not more bind us, than tear us apart?
This journey I sail with you insofar
compromising my obsession with fate
or my soul made virtuous on the rack.
Would you have my name and title disbarred,
an unhoused bird made to flutter naked
to search the barren oceans for her mate?

Loquacious
