My Nightmare Poem by Jessica Elizondo

My Nightmare

My eyes close, and I drift away.
You're there, holding my hand.
How wonderful it is to feel your touch
again. 'I've missed you, ' he whispers
softly in my ear. 'I've missed you
so much too, ' was my reply. All
of a sudden we're dancing in a moon
lit room as rose petals swim at our feet.
I lay my head on your chest, my happy
place. Your eyes burn into mine,
your seductive smile, one of a kind.
My heart beats faster and faster,
almost skipping. Your arms so tight,
secure around me. Then we kiss for what
seems like a very good forever, as the moon sleeps
and the breaking sun now keeps time.
You smile and say 'you've never looked so
beautiful, ' I blush and turn away, I feel
your arms come from behind me. We
sit on the ground your head in my lap as
we watch the day begin........ My eyes stare
at a blank wall and my smile disapears
as I realize that, that happened so long
ago... and i wouldn't happen again.
