My Loneliness Poem by Palitha Ranatunge

My Loneliness

The rainbow in the sky
Sparkling colours over my head
Short meetings and happiness
I dared not look away
For it vanished in a wink of time,

I hugged a beautiful dream
thinking that it was eternal
Cried for love and care
And it was a one never could repeat
You pass by as a stranger,

Your survival was eternal
Contended without my love
I could not sleep in a single night
my heart was feeble and weak
Could it bear such a blow,

The world was old and weary
The radiant rainbow in the sky
Gone ever as feared by me
The fountains of love, drained
For ever in my inward eye.
