My Island Poem by Shogunoka Ledesma III

My Island

Rating: 5.0

Let my hands surround
Your shoreline
Like gentle waves
Exploring your crevices
Like spiraling fingers toward your sandy skin

Awakened by the night's
Throbbing glow
I crawled above the depth
Of this cold abyss
And flood you in my salty embrace

Let me dry
Your lonely isles like pebbles
Moist of morning tears
With a brush of warm whispers
And the promise of the morning sun

Let no man anchor
Your lovely shores
For my angry waves
Will storm his wooden flesh
Until he lays wrecked and broken

My island
Untouched, uninhabited
May your rivers remain
Clear and flowing
To my salty embrace.
