My Grand Mother Poem by tochukwu nwankpa

My Grand Mother

A woman full of wisdom
With a wide range of experience
Telling me wisdom of the ancients
Dating back to her pasts
Telling me the laws that govern life
Teaching me domestic things that are relevant
Inculcating the norms of the society into me
Her ways of discipline are quite rigid
So that I will not become flaccid
She keeps telling me to be of good behaviour
So that I will receive unprecedented favour
Whatever I am I owe her a lot
She helped me separate myself from the lot
She told me how unique I look
No matter how low long it took
Her grey hair is an evidence of old age
But it just shows how life could soon change
I always wonder if I will grow old
Of course I will be because my grandmother is an old woman
